Je suis doctorant dans l'équipe P3E. L'objectif de ma thèse est de déterminer à quel point les effets abiotiques du milieu (comme le climat) et les interactions biotiques, notamment de compétition, ont affecté l'évolution phénotypique des espèces sur de grandes échelles de temps. Pour ce faire, toute une partie de mon travail est de créer de nouveaux outils statistiques (des méthodes comparatives phylogénétiques) qui permettent de détecter ces effets, puis de déterminer avec ces outils quel facteur a le plus probablement affecté l'évolution d'un trait dans un clade. J'applique ces méthodes préférentiellement à des groupes ayant un registre fossile fourni (mammifères, reptiles, invertébrés marins).
I am a PhD student in the P3E team. The aim of my thesis is to determine the extent to which abiotic environmental factors (such as climate) and biotic interactions, particularly competition, have affected the phenotypic evolution of species over long periods of time. To do this, part of my work involves creating new statistical tools (comparative phylogenetic methods) that can detect these effects, and then using these tools to determine which factor most likely affected the evolution of a trait in a clade. I apply these methods primarily to groups with a rich fossil record (mammals, reptiles, marine invertebrates).
