Mes recherches portent aujourd’hui sur la question de la conservation de la biodiversité dans l’anthropocène, en particulier sur l’impact de l’urbanisation au sens large sur les communautés biologiques. L’urbanisation concerne directement déjà plus de 50% de la population mondiale et plus de 5% des terres émergées. Indirectement, par la redistribution spatiale des populations ainsi que la réorganisation des réseaux de transports et de production de matières premières qu’elle induit, l’urbanisation pose une empreinte globale, qui affecte tous les êtres vivants. J’aborde aujourd’hui cette problématique par deux angles complémentaires : celui de l’aménagement des paysages urbains d’une part, celui des communautés biologiques sous la menace des espèces exotiques envahissantes (en particulier de fourmis) de l’autre.

Projets de recherche :
- Je porte aujourd’hui le projet Villegarden, financé par le PEPR Ville Durable et Bâtiment Innovant (2024-2029) à hauteur de 3 millions d’euros, qui regroupe 20 laboratoires dans 9 villes françaises.
- Je participe à l’ANR GLOURB (global urbanisation of floodplains, 2023-2026, porteur H. Piégay, UMR 5600 EVR), et j’y co-encadre la thèse de J. Burriat (2024-) avec S. Dolédec et B. Belletti (cofinancement LabEx IMU et EUR H2O’Lyon).
- Je participe au Living’Lab Anthares, un projet ciblé du PEPR SOLUBIOD, et je co-dirige (avec M. Bourgeois, dérogation de l’ED483 Sciences Sociales) la thèse d’H. Dumonteil, cofinancée par le living-lab et l’Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3.
- Je participe au projet Agence de l'Eau RMC "ALLAGUI" porté par J-L Bertrand-Krajewski (INSA-DEEP), qui porte sur l'efficacité des systèmes d'infiltration des eaux pluviales en toitures et en voierie dans le cadre du changement climatique.
Enseignement
Je suis responsable du master BEE- Ecologie de l'Anthropocène : urbanisation, biodiversité, eau, ainsi que des UE de licence sciences de la biodiversité Zoologie (L2) et Ecologie des Communautés (L3).
Collections et patrimoine
Je suis responsable scientifique des collections de zoologie de l'Université de Lyon , qui sont une partie de la plateforme Collections de la FR BIOEENVIS
My research currently focuses on the issue of biodiversity conservation in the Anthropocene, particularly the impact of urbanization in the broad sense on biological communities. Urbanization already directly affects more than 50% of the world's population and more than 5% of the land surface. Indirectly, through the spatial redistribution of populations and the reorganization of transport and raw material production networks that it induces, urbanization has a global footprint that affects all living beings. Today, I am approaching this issue from two complementary angles: the development of urban landscapes on the one hand, and biological communities threatened by invasive alien species, esp. ants, on the other.
