A l'interface entre écologie et génomique environnementale, mes recherches portent sur les mécanismes structurant l’assemblage des communautés biologiques (des bactéries jusqu’aux grands mammifères) ainsi que les réseaux d’interactions en leur sein (e.g., réseaux trophiques). Je m’intéresse plus spécifiquement à la réponse et à la résilience des communautés multi-trophiques aux perturbations (notamment d’origine anthropique) et aux conséquences de leur altération sur le fonctionnement des écosystèmes (e.g. cycle du carbone). Ces travaux reposent sur le développement et l’application d’outils de génomique environnementale (i.e., l’étude de l’ADN et de l’ARN provenant d’échantillons environnementaux comme l’eau ou les sédiments), couplées à des approches d’écologie de terrain, pour étudier la biodiversité et le fonctionnement des écosystèmes (e.g. Rhône, savanes tropicales). Par extension, je m'intéresse également à l'application de ces outils et connaissances pour la gestion et la restauration des milieux.
At the interface between ecology and environmental genomics, my researches focus on mechanisms structuring biological communities (from bacteria to large mammals) and interaction networks within them (e.g. trophic networks). I investigate more specifically the response and resilience multi-trophic communities to disturbances and to the consequences of thir alteration on ecosystem functioning (e.g. carbon cycling). These works rely on the development and application of environmental genomic tools (i.e. the study of DNA and RNA extracted from environmental samples such as water or sediment), coupled with field ecology approaches, to investigate biodiversity and ecoystem functioning (e.g. Rhône river, tropical savanas). By extension, I am also interested in the application of these tools and knowledge for environmental management and ecosystem restoration.
