Mon travail de recherche vise à identifier les déterminants de la composition et de la structure des communautés aquatiques et à comprendre l’impact des pressions anthropiques sur la biodiversité. Je développe et utilise des méthodes moléculaires, notamment basées sur l’ADN environnemental afin d’étudier la totalité des organismes présents dans un milieu (des bactéries aux vertébrés) et de cibler les différentes composantes de la biodiversité (taxonomique, génétique, phylogénétique, fonctionnelle). Je m’intéresse tout particulièrement aux milieux souterrains qui sont encore largement inexplorés et pour lesquels l’effet des actions anthropiques sont méconnus. Une partie de ma recherche est également dédiée au développement de méthodes et outils pour soutenir la surveillance environnementale et la mise en place de mesures de protection des écosystèmes.
My research focuses on identifying the determinants of the composition and structure of aquatic communities and to understand the impact of anthropogenic pressures on biodiversity. I develop and use molecular methods, particularly those based on environmental DNA, to study all organisms present in an environment (from bacteria to vertebrates) and to target different components of biodiversity (taxonomic, genetic, phylogenetic, functional). I am particularly interested in underground environments, which are still largely unexplored and for which the effects of anthropogenic actions are poorly understood. Part of my research is also dedicated to developing methods and tools to support environmental monitoring and the implementation of ecosystem protection measures.
