My research aims at understanding how biodiversity in its multiple facets is distributed in space and time in freshwater environments. Are there general or specific biodiversity patterns? Are the patterns observed at various hierarchical levels congruent or idiosyncratic? What are the eco-evolutionary dynamics of biodiversity, and how do environmental factors affect them? What are the implications for biodiversity conservation, invasive species management and ecosystem restoration?

I am also interested in national and international conservation policies, by helping to improve and facilitate the consideration of genetic diversity in these policies through my participation in international working groups (European action COST G-Bike, GEO BON Genetic Composition Working Group, Coalition for Conservation Genetics).
